Field Operations Command

The Field Operations Command is the “face” of the Casper Police Department that most people see. Our officers respond to call from citizens and investigate crimes that have already occurred as well as engage in proactive enforcement activities through self-initiated work and involvement with the community.

The Field Operations Command provides supervision and administrative support for the Patrol Divisions which includes: patrol field services of patrol teams and units, court liaison activities, and patrol scheduling; and  teams such as the recruit officer field training program, contracted teams such as the foot patrols, airport team and campus team. The Special Operations Section includes the Canine Team, School Resource Officers, Traffic Enforcement Unit, Emergency Response and Planning, Firearms Instructor’s Range,  and Community Service Officer programs.

The Field Operation Command Captain represents the division at the Command Staff level and is responsible for oversight of personnel management practices, budget development and oversight and communication with the public, the department and the city about services and practices of the Patrol Division. Other duties of the administration include direction and support to help facilitate day-to-day business needs including coordination of office operations, requisition and purchase of equipment and supplies, personnel action documentation and departmental awards, processing travel and training requests, scheduling of personnel for duty, notification to personnel for court appearances, etc. and technical support and logistical support for emergency operations.
