Written Test Information

The written test is supplied by the Wyoming Peace Officers Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.). You must pass each of the 4 sections of the written test per P.O.S.T. requirements (minimum of 75% per section).  This is a test that measures an applicant’s basic reading, writing, math, and problem-solving skills.  The cost of the exam is $20 payable in CASH only.

An applicant may schedule a time to take the written test through the Wyoming Peace Officers Standards and Training Commission (POST) prior to Casper Police Entry Level testing. If an applicant has taken the P.O.S.T test, we will accept the scores from P.O.S.T. that are 75% or better within 1 year of our testing date. Make sure you have the funds with you at the time of the written test.  A photo ID is required when checking in for the written test.

To schedule a written exam prior to the testing date through WLEA P.O.S.T, the fee will be $35 per test. Please contact P.O.S.T. at (307) 777-7718. Exams are given by appointment only.
