2023 Sexual Assault Awareness Month

The Casper Police Department and the National recognizes April as Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and although we know one month is not enough time to
solve the serious and widespread issues of sexual violence, we do want to take
the time to focus on the prevalence of sexual violence.  This is a time to
educate our community, individuals and relatives about the risk factors for
sexual assault and empower individuals to take steps to prevent it in our
community. The Casper Police Department Victim Services Unit is here to support
and assistance victims of sexual violence. If you, or someone you know, needs
assistance, please call the Victim Service Unit at 235-8347 or Dispatch at
235-8279.

ALARMS PERMIT

The City of Casper has passed an ordinance requiring private residences and businesses to obtain a permit to install and maintain alarm systems within the city limits, effective January 1, 2023. The purpose of the ordinance is to establish reasonable standards for users and ensure alarm owners are accountable for the proper operation of their alarm systems. The Public Safety community recognizes that false alarms place significant burdens on local law enforcement resources responding to false alarm calls. The city recognizes the importance of properly installed and maintained security systems and how security systems are an effective tool in identifying criminal offenses in progress, as seen in a recent incident.
