January 13th Suspicious Death Update

Casper Police continue to vigorously investigate a suspicious death that occurred on January 13th, 2021 in Casper.

On January 14th, 2021, the Natrona County Coroner publicly identified the deceased male as 30-year-old Eugene Martin Hogan.

Officers believe that this event was isolated and there is no threat to the public.

At this time, the investigation has revealed that the victim sustained a gunshot wound. Officers are currently speaking with a person of interest in this case; however, no one is currently in custody.

As part of the ongoing investigation, officers have reason to believe multiple people within the community have crucial information regarding this case and have thus far, not come forward to law enforcement with that information, consequently impeding the investigation.

—–Original News Release from January 14th, 2021 (copied below)—–Casper, Wyoming (January 14, 2021) – Shortly before 7:30pm last night, January 13th, 2021, Casper Police responded to the area of the 4700 block of Tranquility Way, in Casper.

Upon arrival to the scene, officers located a deceased adult male inside one of the apartments.

At this time, this incident is being investigated as a suspicious death. Officers will remain on scene for an extended period of time. We ask that the public please avoid this area. This is an isolated incident with no threat to the public.
