Juvenile Arrested on Multiple Aggravated Crimes

Casper Police have arrested a juvenile male on multiple recommended felony charges of aggravated assault, aggravated kidnapping, and aggravated robbery.

On Friday, June 12th, 2020, Casper Police Officers responded to three separate calls for service in regards to an evolving situation involving multiple individuals. Very quickly, the calls were connected and officers began investigating.

Within the span of three hours on Friday afternoon, officers responded to two weapons offenses and one report of shots fired in different locations in Casper.

Throughout this entire situation, there were no injuries.

Ultimately, through investigation and speaking with multiple victims, officers had cause to believe that a primary suspect, a juvenile male, had pointed a firearm at multiple individuals while inside a residence at South McKinley Street, he demanded they give him their cell phones and ultimately forced them inside of a white SUV transporting them to an unknown residence. The victims were able to flee the scene as the suspect fired a round out of the driver’s side window. The involvement of illegal drugs is being investigated as a contributing factor in this case.

Having probable cause that the suspect committed multiple aggravated felonies, officers began searching for him. Officers discovered that the suspect was from Edgerton and upon further investigation, reviewed video surveillance from a local gas station in the area showing the suspect that evening.

Officers identified a residence located at the 500 block of Peak Street in Midwest where the suspect was believed to be hiding and received a search warrant for the residence. Due to the nature of the incident, the Natrona County Special Response Team was activated to ensure the safety of everyone involved. Ultimately, the suspect was taken into custody. No injuries were sustained.

After being interviewed at the Casper Police Department by detectives, the suspect was arrested on six recommended felony aggravated assault charges, six recommended felony aggravated robbery charges and three recommended aggravated kidnapping charges.

Throughout this complex and evolving situation, officers and detectives relied on their training and experience to successfully and safely end the incident and apprehend the suspect.
