The Casper Police Department has arrested one individual in relation to an ongoing investigation.
On January 16th, 2020, the Casper Police Department arrested an adult male on one recommended felony charge of first-degree sexual abuse of a minor.
The suspect is a current employee of the Natrona County School District.
The Casper Police Department is grateful for the close working relationship we share with the Natrona County School District and is working in direct coordination with District officials on this investigation.
We believe that this suspect’s crimes may be connected to the functions of his employment with the Natrona County School District.

The Natrona County School District has put in place appropriate safeguards to preclude the suspect from having further access to students.
At this time, this is an open and active investigation and we ask that our public respect the privacy of those involved. More information will be released as it becomes available.
The Casper Police Department understands the concerns and frustrations of its citizens, especially those who may have children in the local school district. However, Wyoming Statute 6-2-319 prohibits us from currently releasing the identity of the suspect, or from releasing enough specific information that the suspect’s identity would be apparent, until such time as the charges are filed in the District Court. We are committed to transparency with our citizens, especially on matters involving crimes such as this. Yet, we are also committed to following the same laws that allow us to apprehend and prosecute the crimes that harm our community. As soon as information can be lawfully released that may aid our community in better understanding this crime, we will do so.
