Casper Police found and arrested the primary suspect in a residential shooting just hours after the incident occurred.
Police believe this to be an isolated event with no threat to the public.
The Casper Police Department arrested 18-year-old male, Connor Goodman of Casper, around 7:45 am on Saturday, September 21st, 2019. Goodman was arrested and charged with one count of Felony Aggravated Assault for shooting a juvenile male at a residence, located at the 3500 Block of Big Horn Street in Casper, early that morning.
The injured juvenile suffered one gunshot wound to the torso and was transported to a local hospital before later being flown to a Colorado hospital.
After responding to a call of shots fired around 12:45 am, police were quickly able to identify Goodman as the primary suspect who had shot the juvenile and fled the scene.
Casper Police immediately began a high-intensity search of the surrounding area and any known locations of Goodman. Within a few hours, Goodman was located at a Casper residence. The firearm suspected of being used in this crime was also located with Goodman. Goodman was interviewed by detectives and subsequently arrested for the shooting. At the time of his arrest, Goodman was under the influence of alcohol.
Nearly two dozen Casper Police Officers responded to and began an immediate investigation of this incident. It is through their tireless and dedicated efforts, and commitment to our community’s safety, that this suspect was so quickly identified, found and arrested.
This case remains under investigation. Due to the involvement of juveniles, in this case, limited details will be able to be released. Information will be shared as it becomes available.
